The Images below are the participants in the Sertoma Club of Mesa.  The charactes represented span a period of over 230 years, reminding us the importance of all our citizens to be active and resloute in utilizing  the liberties and resources established by our founding fathers. 

About the Images

Regarding our event:

As circunstances allow or dictate, the Sertoma Club spoonsors a Float/Entry in the annual Veteran's Day Parade.  Our purpose is to promote and celebrate the military, both historic and modern, and the part they played in the winning our liberty, establishing the founding documents of the United States and protecting and the continuing defensa of those liberties.  We wish to encourage our fellow citizens to read, understand and defend our constitution.

The 2010 float featured George and Martha Washington riding a covered wagon with a banner sized Declaration of Iindependence and U.S. Constitution accompanied by  a contingency of armed mountain men, followed by a contingency of armed modern-day soldiers. Accomanying the group was a group of Boy Scouts distributing small American flags and pocket copies of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America.

(Left) The 2011 float included the Scout Troop 451 and received the First Place award in the BSA Category.  This unit has more than 50 Boy Scouts and 100 Cub Scouts, all very well trained.  We celebrated a triple centennial: Boy Scouts of America; Sertoma Club International and the State of Arizona.
